Before joining the private bar, Lara was a Senior Crown Prosecutor at the Queensland Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions and a Principal Legal Officer at the independent Commission of Inquiry into Queensland Police Service responses to domestic and family violence. She has extensive litigation and advocacy experience, and is dedicated to maintaining a broad practice.
