Robert Quirk graduated BCom LLB (Hons) Bond University 1991/1992. He is a member of the Bar Association of Queensland and a committee member of the Gold Coast Bar Association.

Robert has experience across many areas of law, advising and representing clients of all types and sizes. He has over 25 years’ experience in environmental, commercial and contract, administrative, appellate, planning, building and construction, body corporate and family. Robert also have experience in criminal/ enforcement matters in the above areas. Robert Quirk has also been an officer in the RAAF Specialist Reserve since 1998. He was one of the counsel assisting the F111 Deseal Reseal Board of Inquiry, and has been a prosecuting and defending officer. From 2009 to 2017 Robert was a member of the Joint Regional Planning Panel Northern – Tweed Shire Council (dev’t > $20M).

BGM Projects Pty Ltd v Durmaz Corporation Pty Ltd [2020] QSC 87 and BGM Projects Pty Ltd v Durmaz Corporation Pty Ltd [2020] QSC 88. Applications for permanent mandatory injunction (applications granted).

Contract/ property/ environmental: Tyler v Bettson [2020] HCASL 11; [2019] QCA 176 and [2019] QCA 230. Re restrictive covenants in a land contract (successfully opposed application for special leave).

Admin/ environmental: WMI Pty Ltd v Chief Executive, Department of Environment and Science (2019) (on behalf of the Respondent – 2 proceedings): resolved – orders made for environmental evaluation and direction notice pt EP Act.

Outside of the law Robert appeared in Pins and Needles (Oliver) produced by the Tugun Theatre Company in 2018 and was a member of the Australian Age Group Triathlon Team for the World Championships in 2011.
